The president came into the ballroom at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster at 3:33 p.m. He was greeted by a line of veterans representatives (list of names at the bottom) who had been standing and waiting for him for 30 minutes.
Earlier at 3:30pm,Department of Veterans AffairsSecretary DavidShulkin came out to provide some information about theVeterans Affairs Choice and Quality Employment Act of 2017. He said the legislation willexpand the VA's ability to hire medical center directors in the VA, authorizes leases with 28 new facilities where veterans can go for care and allows veterans to receive care faster.
Trump is going to comment on Charlottesville but is first shaking hands.
